The Century's "Number One" Sample Pack includes:
This make up a total of 355 sounds!!!
So, I wanted to tell you a little bit about the instruments and equipment used to record these sounds. Let's begin!
Trumpets
The trumpets were recorded with a Neumann U87 Condenser Mic and an Sennheiser 421 Dynamic Mic running through a Neve 5088 Console. Here is a picture of the recording day. (Trumpet: Joel Schnaper, Recording Engineer: Quinn Blalock)
Ad Libs
The Ad Libs were recorded with a Neumann U87
Condenser Mic running through an APi 1068 Console.
Here are some pictures of the recording.
(Singer: Elisa Gonzalez)

Moog Sirin Synthetizer
The Moog Sirin Synthesizer is a Limited Edition Synth with only 2,000 copies around the world!!! I was able to get my hands on one of those and I decided I should squeeze as much juice out of that baby as I possibly could. Sounds pretty good!

Guitars
Some of the Guitars were recorded with a 1980s JCM800 Marshall Amp that was microphoned with a Sennheiser 421 Dynamic Mic which was running through an APi 1068 Console.
Some others were recorded direct into an Apogee Duet.

All guitar sounds were recorded with the beautiful 1972 Gibson ES-325, this model was only made from 1972 to 1979 so there are no fakes and they are a rare model with a unique sound.

Tongue Drums
The Tongue drum can be made from an empty (often 20 lb) propane tank. The tank is flipped over, the base cut/knocked off; and seven to ten tongues are cut radially into the bottom of the tank, forming the top of the instrument.
The Tongue drum can also be made from new unused tank heads. The tongues can be tuned by the maker by varying the length of the cuts, or by adding weights, often neodymium magnets to the tongues. The Tongue drum is often tuned to pentatonic scales but can be tuned to the diatonic scale, the chromatic scale, or any set of notes the maker chooses. The instrument is played with the fingers or with mallets. The tone is bell-like.

Bass
Most of the Bass lines were recorded through D.I. into a Neve 5088 Console with a Fender Jazz Bass.

Keyboards/Organs and Synth Sounds
These sounds are MIDI base sounds. All of these samples are made using software instruments.
